Swift Current can be proud of the very successful event held on the longest day of the year celebrating kites and family and fun. Shann Gowan, coordinator, needs to be commended for striking a great balance between music and family fun while keeping the emphasis on kiting. Guests for 2008 included Team IQuad, Kerry St. Dennis, Lucy Jonkman, Normand Girard, Deb Lenzen, Art Ross, Mike Shaw, Bev Dockrill, Don and Alice Guick, George Aronetz, Bud Taylor, and Andrei Chichak, David Tuttle and Dr. Ray Hathiramani.

Beautiful banners decorating the Canadian landscape. Kerry St. Dennis's very cool seahorse. Normand Girard and Kerry St. Dennis providing an autograph for a young fan.  These young kite flyers truly enjoyed the chance to fly one of Mike Shaw's kites. AKA with a presence on banner row.

Great ground display. Bev Dockrill showing her beautiful appliqued kite.  Art Ross and Kerry St. Dennis watching their kites. A little too young to be thinking of sushi. Don Guick's Spike leads the pack.

Only great kitemakers can catch a quiet moment during a festivals because their kites fly so well...Don and Alice Guick are great. Mike Shaw purchased a Candian flag to add to his flag display for Swift Current. Art Ross flying big again, again, and again!!!!  Art kites by Mike Shaw, Normand Girard and Andrei Chichak Barry Poulter and Deb Lenzen sharing a king kong sized laugh at the end of the festival.
